ACAMS Vancouver Chapter June 2026 Event: AML Model and Data Risk Management, and Recent Bill C-12’s Update to Canada’s AML Compliance Regulations

Rebecca Ip is a Vice-President of KPMG Forensic Inc. in Toronto and has specialized in Forensic Accounting since 2007. Rebecca has extensive experience in advising clients in the financial industry on AML, sanctions, anti-bribery and corruption, fraud and litigation related matters in Canada, United Kingdom and the Netherlands.

On AML-specific projects, Rebecca assisted clients in compliance regime assessments, gap analysis, remediation projects and pre-and-post-regulatory assistance. Rebecca’s AML experience also includes non-financial entities such as real estate and dealers in precious metals and stones.

Rebecca is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF), Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and Chartered Accountant (CA) and has a Masters of Accounting degree from the University of Waterloo.

Mike has more than ten years of experience in financial crime compliance advisory, compliance examination and internal audit in large financial institutions and government regulatory agencies. Prior to joining KPMG, Mike worked in the Financial Crimes Compliance advisory group supporting large financial institutions including HSBC, Citibank, BNP Paribas and JPMorgan Asset Management in Shanghai, China. Mike also worked as a Compliance Examiner for the Nova Scotia Securities Commission. Mike hold several designations including Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Fraud Examiner and Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist.

Prior to joining KPMG, Dinesh gathered over 13 years of Information Technology experience including around 10 years in Financial Services domain, serving in different roles. Over the years he has experience in Product Implementation, System Integration, Coding, Model Validation and Tuning spanning the entire Software Development Life Cycle. He has extensive experience working on AML and Fraud Detection Solutions for Private/Public/Government Entities, Commercial Banks and Insurance companies across Canada & US. He has experience working on Design, Development, Implementation and Deployment of AML & Fraud Solutions for Major financial institutions.
