ACAMS Hong Kong Chapter May 2026 Event: Compliance Officer of the Future - Transaction Monitoring and Beyond
This event is fully subscribed. For related enquiries please contact hkchapter@acams.org.
Overview
Our panel of speakers will explore the evolving landscape, as it relates to strategies and methodologies deployed within the Detection Pillar of the AML Life Cycle.
Acknowledging that individual Banks and Financial Institutions, depending on the size and complexity of their businesses, might face differing money laundering threats and/or may have attained differing levels of programme maturity, the panel will address key considerations at every stage of the maturity cycle.
The discussion will aim to provide actionable insights for our HK FC compliance professionals, helping them to ensure their organisations have appropriate risk coverage from a detection standpoint, as well as to ensure they are meeting, or have plans to meet, the increasing regulatory expectations around the adoption of detection technologies.
The session will include representation from Senior Compliance Executives, and will be moderated by a Board member, to provide valuable perspectives.
Discussion will broadly cover:
1. THE KNOWNS
- Transaction Monitoring: i) Rules-based Scenarios - Basic implementation, ii) Optimisation – initial and ongoing, and iii) Optimization – enhanced auto-scoring, auto-closure, suppression, iv) ML/AI application to L1 output, v) ML/AI driven rules-based scenarios;
- Typology-driven Data Analytics: Typology-driven, ad hoc / project-based AML Reviews, based on differing levels of sophistication from a tooling, data and workflow perspective.
2. THE UNKNOWNS
- AI-enabled, model-driven network-linked Analysis
The session will aim to provide practical takeaways to help organizations strengthen detection capabilities.
