ACAMS Germany Chapter May 2026 Event: Transnational Threats

May 6, 2026 / 12:30PM–10PM CET In-Person Hiroshimastraße 1, 10785 Berlin 0 ACAMS Credits

Overview

To mark the 10th anniversary of ACAMS Germany Chapter e.V. and as a lead-up to the ACAMS Assembly EU on 12 & 13 May 2026, we are pleased to invite you, together with Mafia Nein Danke e.V. and Counter Terrorism Project Germany, to “Transnational Threats: The EU AML Regulation as a Weapon Against Mafia Networks, Organized Crime Structures, and Terrorist Financing Networks — Lessons from Italy” on 6 May 2026 in Berlin.

The event will focus on the question of which measures can truly be effective in the fight against organized crime. Particular attention will be given to Italy’s experience in combating mafia structures, the role of the new European AML framework, the recent German Action Plan to fight organized crime and the lessons that can be drawn for Germany and Europe. Recent developments have pushed terrorist organisations to rely more heavily on criminal sources of funding and organised crime structures - something we also need to monitor closely.

The event will bring together perspectives from civil society, policymakers, law enforcement, supervisors and practitioners, and will provide room for an informed exchange on practical approaches to strengthening integrity and resilience against mafia and criminal networks.

The event is supported by the Embassy of Italy in Berlin and will take place at the premises of the Embassy.

An evening reception will follow after, at the venue.

The event will be held in German and English. We look forward to your participation and an engaging exchange. Chatham House Rules will apply.
