Overview
Allens will host a panel session to discuss learnings from the first three months of the AML/CTF reforms. Key focuses will be on:
- navigating practical compliance issues emerging from the reforms, including the increasing convergence of financial crime compliance with:
- the inclusion of express sanctions obligations into the AML/CTF Act; and
- scams monitoring and mitigation obligations which will start to bite when designations are made under the Scams Prevention Framework;
- how reporting entities can demonstrate compliance, including the practical importance of record keeping and maintaining good hygiene around implementation plans, approvals and business as usual processes; and
- tips for implementing the reforms, including recommendations as to the steps to take over the next 6 months.
